A Tribute to the Students and Faculty of Columbine High
This page is dedicated to all the students and faculty of Columbine High in Littleton Colo. This page is for anyone who wishes to send prayers, thoughts and general good wishes to those who experienced the tragic attack on Tuesday April 20, 1999 and their families. All I ask is that if you wish something posted on this page that it not be derogatory. This page is to try and help those families get through a very tough time, they need our support right now, and to know there are people out there who really do care. I will not post any of the names of those involved, either directly or indirectly. If the families wish otherwise I will do so, but only at their request. Anyone wishing to have something posted, please Email me at the address below. This will be an ongoing project, we can never forget the strength of these kids, and must do everything in our power to never let this type of thing happen again.
A Prayer For The Children
We pray for the children Who sneak Popsicles before supper, Who erase holes in math workbooks, Who can never find their shoes. And we pray for those Who stare at photographers through barbed wire, Who can't bound down the streets in a new pair of sneakers, Who never "counted potatos," Who are born in places where we wouldn't be caught dead, Who never go to the circus, Who live in an X-rated world. We pray for children Who bring us sticky kisses and fistfuls of dandelions, Who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money. And we pray for those Who never get desert, Who have no safe blanket to drag behind them, Who watch parents watch them die, Who can't find any bread to steal, Who don't have any rooms to clean up, Whose pictures aren't on anybody's dresser, Whose monsters are real. We pray for children Who spend their allowances before Tuesday, Who throw tantrums in grocery stores and pick at their food, Who like ghost stories, Who shove clothes under the bed, Who never rinse out the tub, Who gets visits from the tooth fairy, Who don't like to be kissed in front of the carpool, Who squirm in church and scream on the phone, Whose tears we sometimes laugh at, Whose smiles can make us cry. And we pray for those Whose nightmares come in the daytime, Who will eat anything, Who have never seen a dentist, Who aren't spoiled by anybody, Who go to bed hungry and cry themselves to sleep, Who live and move but have no being. We pray for the children who want to be carried and for those who must, Who never give up and for those who never got a second chance. For those we smother and for those who will grab the hand of anyone kind enough to offer it. -Unknown
